Founder: Barbara de la Fuente
An actress, author, producer, arts promoter and entrepreneur. Living in Canada for the past 10 years, she founded Southern Mirrors with the objective of promoting Brazilian culture. Barbara is Vice-President of Group Brasil, a Brazilian Cultural Association in Toronto. A graduate of the School of the Dramatic Arts, University of Sao Paulo. Has worked in Brazil and Canada in numerous theater plays, films, TV commercials, videos and voice-over. Recipient of the Best Newcomer Actress Award by the Sao Paulo’s Association of Critics of Art and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress by the Sao Paulo’s Association of Play Producers for her role in the Farse of the Dragon’s Head by Ramon del Valle Inclan. Wrote the plays Cut and Fried and Breasts, the latter presented at the Toronto Fringe Festival. Produced the play Breasts; the show Sounds of Ipanema - a Tribute to Tom Jobim, and created Nelson Rodrigues Festival and the 1st Brazilian Film Festival of Toronto.
